Even if you’re not up for the full 26.2 miles, which we consider extremely far to go on foot, there are plenty of ways to participate in this annual run. Choose from a half marathon, the Mayor’s 5K run/walk, a 1 mile kids fun run, or a five-person relay that allows runners to share the marathon distance with friends. There’s also a need for a cheering section, which involves you on your front porch sipping hot chocolate spiked with peppermint schnapps. The festivities kick off with fireworks and confetti, and the official course winds through the Arts District, Uptown, and the M Streets with live music and water stations along the way. All funds raised benefit the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
