Amphibian Stage Productions kicks off their new season with a staged reading of Lee Blessing’s drama about an American university professor kidnapped and held hostage in Lebanon. Written in 1990, Blessing takes us back and forth between Michael Wells, the hostage, and his wife at home in America, who must contend with a State Department official intent on keeping her quiet and a newspaper reporter who first mines and then becomes mired in her tragedy.
