Oscar Wilde gets the big-screen treatment with Roundabout Theatre Company's latest adventure in cinema. A performance of the lovable farce at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City was taped live in HD, and will be screened in artsy cinemas across the country. This particular production originated at the Stratford Festival in Canada, where director and star Brian Bedford has put down roots. RTC imported it and handed the aesthetics over to Desmond Heeley, the first person to take home the Tony Award for both scenic and costume design in the same year. What with the excellent ensemble performances and some elegant cross-dressing, we think it's safe to say that this is one performance you won't want to "bunbury" your way out of.
