About

Bailey's still life works are remarkable in the fact that not only are they crafted well, but they are constructed purely from his own memory. This juxtaposition to what “still life” essentially means is one of the many unique aspects of Bailey's approach. Along with drawing everyday objects set against monochromatic backdrops, the Iowa native applies this same delicate aesthetic to painting female figures, purely from imagination. His women tend to appear weightless and unhinged from their imagined spaces, lending a sense of whimsy to his creativity.
