MBS Productions presents a new translation of Pierre Marivaux’s comedy of contrivances and mistaken identities in the French Commedia dell’Arte tradition. Sylvia’s father believes it’s high time his daughter married, so he arranges a suitable match with the nobleman Dorante. In order to judge her betrothed’s true character, the young lady changes places with her housemaid, Lisette. Unbeknownst to her, of course, is that Dorante is masquerading as his valet in order to do the same to her.
