Friends of the Santa Fe Trail, a group that’s committed to all aspects of this up-and-coming artery for bikes and pedestrians—including the path itself plus the communities it connects—invites the public to discuss its recent triumphs and its plans for the future over drinks and appetizers. The trail, currently a 12-foot-wide strip of concrete that runs from the White Rock Lake Trail to Deep Ellum, is as bare as the Katy Trail was in its infancy—and like the Katy Trail will rely on the community to bring it to life.
