Last April, Big D Reads, a community service project designed to immerse Dallas in a shared reading experience, invited the entire city to revisit Ray Bradbury's prescient novel Fahrenheit 451. The month-long, city-wide initiative, packed with events that ranged from book club meetings to movie screenings, encouraged reading for pleasure. Long story short, it was so much fun that we're doing it again. This time, the book we're reading together is the beloved classic The Outsiders, and author S.E. Hinton will be here to help celebrate. Hinton published The Outsiders when she was just 18, drawing on her own adolescent experience of teenagers divided by wealth and status. Hear her speak at this free BooksART event, part of the Dallas Museum of Art's Arts and Letters Live series.
