About
Since music may very well be the food of love, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra serves up a special Valentine’s Day weekend concert. The bill includes Claude Debussy’s Iberia (no, not the song Edward plays Bella in Twilight, which is apparently the stick by which we’re measuring romance these days) and Joaquín Rodrigo’s guitar concerto, Concierto de Aranjuez, played by guest guitarist Manuel Barreuco. The finishing touch is Sergei Prokofiev’s Suite From Romeo and Juliet, because what could be more romantic than the story of two underage star-crossed lovers whose swift, secret love affair results in a totally preventable double suicide? Not much.
