Ra Ra Riot is not for the lethargic, so if your idea of a party is smooth jazz and a nice glass of chilled Chard, you’d better sit this one out. Since the band formed in 2006, it’s earned praise from the likes of Spin and Rolling Stone and developed a devoted fan base. With seven members and instruments such as the violin and cello accompanying the usual guitar, keyboard, and bass, you’d expect each track to be packed with sound—and you wouldn’t be disappointed. Listen for older, favorite tracks such as “Can You Tell” (sample swoon-worthy lyric: “When I look into your eyes, I tend to lose my thoughts.”) and songs from Beta Love, released just last month.
