This group is straight out of the Athens, Georgia indie-pop scene. But before you turn up your nose, you should know that they have 10 years and 11 albums under their belt, a bit of a distinguishing factor from other groups that’ve fallen by the wayside. They released Paralytic Stalks last February, a record that seems to channel songwriter Kevin Barnes’ rather dark inner monologue. Themes of rage, revenge, and self-hatred make this one a cloudier endeavor than what the band has put out in the past.
