National Geographic Live: Tim Laman and Ed Scholes
- April 11, 2013 8 pm
Huh. Photographer and researcher Tim Laman and Cornell University ornithologist Ed Scholes spent more than a decade in paradise and all we got was a big book of birds. This is actually awesome, because we now boast a greater knowledge of the 39 species of once-mysterious winged creatures native to New Guinea and the surrounding islands. Plus, the duo shot a ton of awe-inspiring photographs and video. During their presentation, which should be of interest to avid birders and newbies alike, Laman and Scholes will discuss the behaviors, physical features, courtship antics and even the evolution of such creatures along with details of their "wild and hairy adventures" traipsing around the forests.
