This one-woman drama comes with plenty of excess baggage--it was culled from the journals of the real Rachel Corrie, a young American woman who was killed in 2003 by an Israeli Army bulldozer during a protest over the razing of houses along the Gaza strip. Written by journalist Katherine Viner and British actor Alan Rickman (AKA Professor Snape), the play's New York debut set off a storm of political fireworks (Corrie was obviously pro-Palestine) when New York Theater Source delayed its opening. For this Second Thought Theatre production, actress Barrett Nash reprises the role of Rachel Corrie she originated in the play's Dallas debut at the Festival of Independent Theatres last year.
