The fourth production of the Dallas Opera’s inaugural season at the Winspear is the world premiere of Moby-Dick. Based on Melville’s great American novel, Ben Heppner performs in the role of Captain Ahab, Morgan Smith is Starbuck, and Stephen Costello plays Greenhorn. We wouldn’t miss this award-winning cast. Theater insiders have been buzzing for months over the set construction, which has been a very well-kept secret. "How do you stage an opera based on a book about a group of men on a boat in the middle of the Atlantic chasing down a white whale that sinks the ship and drowns the sailors, leaving the narrator floating in an endless abyss of water, clinging to a coffin?" asks D Magazine's Peter Simek. We're not sure, but we can't wait to see this spectacular production.
