This bilingual play is written and performed by Frida Espinosa Müller and tells the story of Mexican poet Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz during the 1600s when women were discouraged from reading and writing. Through the use of puppets, movement, and audience interaction, The Child Who Loved to Read shows Sor Juana's perseverance to become Mexico's most celebrated poet.
