There was a time, not so long ago, when we sort of liked Rilo Kiley. Something about those spunky tunes (“Silver Lining,” for example) appealed to the 12-year-old girl within us. In retrospect, perhaps the music and lyrics were just a wee bit syrupy. Anyhow, we’re happy to learn that lead singer Jenny Lewis has teamed up with boyfriend Johnathan Rice to create slightly more grown-up music and lyrics. Listen for “Scissor Runner” and other tracks off their new album, I’m Having Fun Now.
