When most people consider George Frederic Handel's magnificent Messiah, it's the triumphant "Hallelujah Chorus" that springs to mind. You know the one. It's that tune that involuntarily pops into your head anytime something miraculous happens. However, the chorus is just mere minutes of Handel's 1741 piece that clocks in at more than two hours. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents a trimmed but no less meaningful version every year under the masterful direction of David Thye, professor and chair of the conducting department at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He conducts the Southwest Seminary Master Chorale through Handel's powerful, enduring ode to the Christian faith.
