After Canadian artist Grimes (AKA Claire Boucher) stole the show last year on two of Texas’ most prominent stages—Gorilla vs. Bear Fest in July followed by Fun Fun Fun Fest in November—we’re almost a little concerned that the modest confines of this Denton watering hole might be too cozy for such a rising star. Obviously the talent scouts at UK pop label 4AD felt the same way, since they recently signed the singer to a deal and plan to release her second full-length this year. Listen for “Vanessa” and “Oblivion,” our two favorite tracks. Born Gold and Peopleodian will support.
