About
If you've ever lived in a big noisy city, you understand the occasional-but-overwhelming desire to fling your smartphone out the window and just get the heck out. UTD Arts and Technology grad student Kerry Hennigin uses this need to escape our urban sprawl as inspiration for this exhibit, which features photographers Hulleah Tsinhnahjinnie, Ansel Adams, Brent Phelps, Sebastiao Salgado, Brett Weston, Kate Breakey, John Sexton, Martha Casanave and Robert Langham III. Using both landscape and figurative photos, Hennigin explores the loose ties between man and his environment. She reminds us that while nature can certainly act as a restorative, it is not entirely lacking in its own destructive power.
