About

Brian Donnelly, AKA Kaws, started out as a graffiti artist in Jersey City. His subversion of billboard, bus, and phone booth advertisements skyrocketed him to international fame. Lately, however, his tastes run little more mainstream, as evidenced by his collaborations with Nike, Vans, Burton, Commes des Garçons, and Dos Equis. His paintings and sculpture walk the line between commercial appeal and fine art, à la Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, and his most iconic work is probably the giant Mickey Mouse covering his eyes with an “X” over each hand. Mickey’s been all around the world, and he’ll land in Fort Worth alongside Kaws’ other pop culture-inspired pieces.
