The organizers of Fashion’s Night Out tout it as a global initiative created to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping. We’re content to think of it as an excuse to drink Champagne and splurge on a new pair of heels. Regardless of whether you care more about the fashion community or the loot, this event promises to be a good time. Participating Highland Park Village stores include*:

• Anne Fontaine
• Anthropologie – fashion show with new in-store personal shopper
• Avant Garden – wine and macaroons with a fashion-inspired floral display in front of store
• Carolina Herrera – cocktails, hor d’oeuvres, live music
• Chanel – partnering with Fekkai to do mini manicures in the boutique featuring Chanel’s exclusive FNO nail polish color
• Christian Louboutin – in-store private party with the Schlegels from 6 to 8 p.m.; open to larger crowd from 8 to 11 p.m.; evening features DJ, Champagne, food, and a preview of two items from the spring collection
• Cole Haan
• Escada – with jazz playing in the background, a waiter dressed in a 1920’s usher uniform will pass disposable Escada flasks filled with mint juleps
• Fekkai – partnering with Chanel to do mini manicures in the boutique featuring Chanel’s exclusive FNO nail polish color
• Hadleigh’s
• Harry Winston – cocktail reception
• Hermes – showcasing a special collection for one night only
• Jimmy Choo – festive fare, unveiling of the autumn/winter 2010 collection
• Judith Ripka
• Kiehl’s
• Leggiadro – store will serve pink Champagne and unveil its pink breast-cancer T-shirt, and a make-up artist will demonstrate using Bobbi Brown products (gifts with purchase available)
• Loro Piana
• Ralph Lauren – Champagne and a trend list from Tracy Hayes will be offered
• Rugby
• St. John
• Scoop NYC – live music; partnering with Genetics Denim for a special in-store event
• Stephanie Anne – cocktails; showcasing of a local artist
• Tory Burch

• Vince – in-store party with photographer David Woo
