About
Austin-based, RISD-educated, and Dallas-born artist Tommy Fitzpatrick takes his inspiration (and the name of his new body of work) from a print by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki that was destroyed in 1968 during the student uprisings in Milan. Isozaki never showed his piece to the public, but the same print also inspired the architecture firm Herzog and de Meuron when they were tasked with creating Tokyo’s Prada store. It’s a seven-story glass marvel, and many of Fitzpatrick’s paintings stem from models of the store as well as Isozaki’s original.
