On June 26, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled the essential tenant of the Defense of Marriage Act—the part that barred the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages approved by individual states—unconstitutional. On the same day, SCOTUS dismantled California's gay marriage ban, widely known as Prop 8. In short, there are a few extra things to toast to during this year's pride parade and festival. It's the most fun you can have celebrating unity, community, and diversity. After the parade, head to Lee Park for food, entertainment, and much more.
