One summer, a couple years ago, a touching tale made its way around the Internet. It was the love story of Danny and Annie, two Brooklynites who were married for 27 years until death did them part. But before Danny passed away from incurable cancer, they both sat down to tell their story. Now, it's preserved as a beautiful (and tearjerking) animated short. Who did that? StoryCorps, Dave Isay's oral history project. It's morphed from public radio program to anthropologist's dream. The more than 35,000 interviews lend insight to how Americans work, live, and love. Founder Isay will give a talk as part of the DMA's Arts & Letters Live series, sharing interviews and discussing his most recently published book, All There Is, a collection of StoryCorps' most inspiring love stories.
