Enjoy a wonderful night of 18th-century baroque string music by Italian composer Luigi Boccherini, who spent most of his life in Spain and played in the orchestra of the Royal Palace of Aranjuez. Boccherini and fellow composer at Aranjuez Palace, Francisco Courcelle, wrote unique baroque pieces featuring two cellos. Dallas' Orchestra of New Spain will feature baroque cello specialist Eric Smith in this special concert that will include works by both composers. If enjoying the music that "established opera as a musical genre" isn't enough incentive for you, there will be hot chocolate and cookies following the concert.
