About
After a month of activities, Art in October is going out with a bang. In addition to free admission to the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Crow Collection of Asian Art, guests can enjoy the following:
- A free, costume-themed family party
- Mask- and costume-making
- Outdoor performances
- A street fair
- Pumpkin decorating and other activities, including a costume parade, at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Sammons Park
- A costume contest preceding Anna Bolena at the Winspear Opera House (winner gets free tickets to any Anna Bolena performance)
- A talk with Regina Taylor, author of The Trinity River Plays
- A costume design workshop at the Wyle Theatre Costume Shop
- The One Arts Plaza Fall Block Party
- Art and Ability, a 10-day show featuring works of artists with and without disabilities. For each piece sold, half of the proceeds will go to the artist, and the other half will go to The Arc of Dallas, which provides programs for people with intellectual developmental disabilities.
