Blythe Beck Out

The Naughty Kitchen, Season 1

Let’s state from the outset: Beck was better than this show. Her restaurant, Central 214, was too good for this show. Heck, everyone who ever appeared—whether it was the bickering hosts and hostesses, the members of Beck’s wine club, or even the customers—did themselves no favors by signing waivers to appear on this Oxygen series. Beck tried to be fun and flirty. Instead she came off over-sexed and over-wrought. And at the end of the day, a darned good chef with plenty of experience came off looking sophomoric and hysterical. Luckily, it looks like there will be but the one season, and Beck can go back to what she does best—cooking, with a side of heavy Twittering.
