There’s really nothing like it. Sure we gain a few pounds and lose a lot of dollars, but that’s OK! The one thing you must do before leaving is eat a Fletcher's Corny Dog. We promise that lightly fried cornmeal coating is as delicious now as it was when it was created 69 years ago. But don't stop there. Plan to gain 10 pounds. Each year we look forward to the Big Tex Choice Awards. We pick out the new fried food that will become that year’s big hit. (Deep-fried S’more Pop-Tarts? Yes, please.) Whether you’re impressing a date or just want to check out the view, hop aboard the Texas Star Ferris Wheel, the largest Ferris wheel in North America. And take a picture with Big Tex. Wearing a 75-gallon hat, a size 100 shirt, and what we can only assume are the largest jeans ever to be constructed, Big Tex greets you with a friendly "Howdy!" and a wave. Sure, some are worried that a 52-foot-tall talking robot could take over the world. But that doesn’t concern us. At 59 years old, he’s way past his taking-over-the-world prime.
