The city's essential experiences. You're not a true local until you've done them all.
Mix it up at Sam Moon Trading Co.
The place would make any disposophobiac feel welcome. Row after cluttered row of bags and jewelry fill the store. Once your eyes have adjusted to the merchandise in the center of the room, take in the merchandise hanging on every inch of wall space. The wholesale trade store was so successful, it added a luggage store and a golf store. And it’s so popular that it’s not unusual to spot a bus tour in the parking lot—or a U-Haul, for that matter. There are other Sam Moon outposts. But if you really want to get the full (and full-contact—shoppers there do not mess around) experience, go to the Dallas location.  Photography by Elizabeth Lavin
