The city's essential experiences. You're not a true local until you've done them all.
Seeing more than one play at the Wyly Theatre is a must, as is experiencing the grand acoustics of two of the country’s best-sounding music halls, the Winspear Opera House and the Meyerson Symphony Center. And it’s often said that Dallas has an endless sky. The best place to experience the big blue wonder is within James Turrell's Tending, (Blue) at the Nasher Sculpture Center. You haven’t really seen the work until you’ve spent the better part of the afternoon in the little room, basking in the serene light or watching the rain drip through the square hole in the ceiling.  Illustration by Chip Wass
