What are your favorite restaurants in Dallas?

For a longer, lingering breakfast: Dream Café, hands down. An especially great place to go if you're with kids. Favorite diner: John's on Lower Greenville. Favorite Pizza: Carmine’s Pizzeria on San Jacinto St. For lunch: Ali Baba — FANTASTIC lunch buffet. Also a big fan of Souper Salad, Reikyu (lunch or dinner) and Mai's (best spring rolls in Dallas!) For Dinner: La Calle Doce, great family-owned Mexican seafood restaurant. They have a nice weekend brunch too. Monica's in Deep Ellum. For “special occasion dinners”: My husband and I love Cafe Pacific and Tei-An. For dinner out with the kids: The Dixie House and Genghis Grill.

What are your favorite shops in Dallas?

I'm not much of a "shopper." That said, when I have time to kill, I love to dive into antique stores in the Design District. La Mariposa on Henderson is cool, and so is Emeralds to Coconuts.

What are your favorite hangouts in Dallas?

Favorite Coffee Place: Legal Grounds in Lakewood. Favorite Wine Bar/Lounge: Times Ten Cellars. Favorite Bars: The Lakewood Landing, Snookie’s, White Rock Sports Bar, The Belmont Hotel, State & Allen Lounge. Other Favorites: Half Price Books, downtown library on Young Street, the Farmers Market.

What are your favorite venues in Dallas?

When we do get out: Dallas Theater Center, Kitchen Dog Theater, Theatre Three, the Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas Children's Theater. NorthPark Center: We have a "mall date" while the kids go see a movie. Movies: The Angelika, the Magnolia Places: The Arboretum, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Museum of Nature and Science, Old City Park, White Rock Lake.
