What are your favorite restaurants in Dallas?

My favorite restaurant in Dallas burned down this year - Terilli’s - so I've had to move to other troughs. There's a Greek place in North Dallas that has the best ziziki sauce I've ever had. I swear I can ladle that stuff on roadkill and enjoy it. They also have superlative pita bread. The restaurant is called, believe it or not, Ziziki's. If you want a great family-run cafe, you can't get better than the Gold Rush Cafe in East Dallas.

What are your favorite shops in Dallas?

I'm not much of a clothes guy. I tend to buy only books and power tools. My favorite one-off book shop is Paperbacks Plus in Lakewood. Nice old store in a neat old building that has a great bookstore smell. They extend me credit for my old stuff so that I can buy newer stuff. And they are nice to me. Sometimes I go in there and sleep or play soccer until they kick me out.

What are your favorite hangouts in Dallas?

I pretty much hang at home these days per judge's orders, but when I do go out, my place is Lakewood Landing. I love the atmosphere and I've left most of my health in that place.

What are your favorite venues in Dallas?

I've become a big Winspear Opera House fan. I've attended around half a dozen events there this year. That signature chandelier is hypnotizing. Reminds me of Superman's Ice Palace. I love what Dallas has done with the Art District. Top notch.
