What are your favorite restaurants in Dallas?

Let's focus on some actual menu items from some of my favorite places. Brisket tacos at Mia's. I would rather have these than a $40 steak. White queso at Monica's Aca y Alla; this is my heroin. Anything from Alligator Cafe; this place beats anything I've ever had in New Orleans. Margherita pizza from Campania, the most authentic Italian pizza in Dallas. Burger and tots from Maple & Motor: cheap, delicious, and the dill relish is a nice change from the dated pickle.

What are your favorite shops in Dallas?

Not much of a shopper, but Ahab Bowen and the Army Store on Garland Road are great time wasters.

What are your favorite hangouts in Dallas?

That's easy. The Lakewood Landing and Adair's are the best dive bar and Dallas honky tonk, respectively. Late-night corn dogs at the Landing are better than the State Fair fare, and Adair's is just, well, home.

What are your favorite venues in Dallas?

The Granada Theater is the best place for live music, and the staff is world class. Going to the movies alone at AMC NorthPark is a wonderful Sunday night substitute when HBO's shows are in off-season.
