Notes About the Chart:

Population is a 2012 estimate. TAKS information comes from 2011. SAT and college exams taken are for the graduating class of 2010 (except Sunnyvale, which is 2011). Southlake education stats are from Carroll ISD, where most Southlake kids attend; some, however, go to Grapevine/Colleyville, Keller, or Northwest ISDs. Ovilla education stats are averaged from Red Oak and Midlothian ISDs; some, however, go to Cedar Hill and DeSoto. Glenn Heights education stats are averaged from Red Oak and Desoto ISDs, both districts where Glenn Heights students attend. Sunnyvale’s education stats are from 2011, as this was the first year Sunnyvale High School had a graduating class. Corinth education stats are averaged from Lake Dallas and Denton ISDs. Hickory and Oak Point education stats are averaged from Denton and Little Elm ISDs. 2012 population estimates are from NCTCOG (North Central Texas Council of Governments). Little Elm had no crime satatistics so an average of Denton County was used. Violent crimes and non-violent crimes numbers are annual incidents per 1,000 residents. Average home sales price is for 2011.
